Attorney Focused Design:

A website in which the attorney or attorneys are featured prominently in the design. A smiling and welcoming picture can help personalize your site and help connect with prospective clients.

Conceptual Designs:

These are designs that make you stop and take a second look, since it is not always obvious that you are on a legal website. Instead these designs represent a concept or a vision - freedom, a new beginning, new direction, etc..

Geographic Designs:

These are websites that make a geographic location prominent in the design. These can be pictures of a city skyline or a known landmark like a mountain or monument.

Legal Themed Designs:

With these sites there is usually no question that you are on a legal website. Common legal images include; Columns, Courthouses, Gavels, Lady Justice, Scales of Justice, Courtrooms, etc...

People Focused Designs:

Very common in bankruptcy, a people focused design is one in which images of people dominate the design. I have found that there are two main types of people focused designs in bankruptcy. The first type is meant to elicits a "me too reaction". A pictures of a stressed out family at the kitchen table is an example. The second is more hopeful, showing pictures of happy families - unburdened with debt and looking out to the future.

Practice Related Designs:

These websites make it clear that you are on a bankruptcy website with pictures of 'past due notices' or a 'business calculator'.

Symbolic Design:

If a conceptual design is a metaphor than a symbolic design is a simile. The analogy is much more obvious. In bankruptcy you see symbols like the Piggy Bank, Dollar Signs or money. The American Flag and Eagle are common symbols in many legal websites regardless off practice area.
